Asia Continent Box

I was really excited to see lots of versions of these continent boxes all over pinterest the past couple of weeks. It's been really fun to see what people have been putting in their boxes. We started with Asia and even though it is a huge continent, it has been a great introduction to the World.

Our box currently contains:
Asian Faces/People
Asian Foods
Asian Animals
Flags of a few major countries in Asia- Flags from Homeschool Creations
Sushi Eraser
Simple Origami Instructions and Rice paper
Ornaments made by Widows in Afghanistan (purchased from our church)

For the lid we printed off a picture from Google Earth and taped it to the top.

The 23rd is the Chinese New Year and we are looking forward to celebrating with some traditional Chinese Activities.

We also found this great mom blog with songs and rhymes from around the world: http://www.mamalisa.com/?t=eh

and this fun blog with images from Asia and music: Www.nomadicsamuel.com

On one more note: why didn't I post the file for the images? First, I wasn't totally sure about copy write issues. Second, this was such a success because Bear helped me put together the box from start to finish. The images are all ones that he personally picked (with some parent filtering on the web searches). It was completely worth the effort!
