Being Intentional

The past couple of weeks I've been working hard on streamlining things around here. From simplifying our homeschooling routine by incorporating Montessori to getting rid of clutter on everything from counter tops to cabinets.

It's been on my heart to do more aspects of my daily life intentionally. From folding laundry to taking a legitimate break to playing with the kids.

A lot of things happen because they just have to. The dishes have to get done at some point or we can't eat. The laundry has to get washed.  The kids need to be taken care of.

But those things don't always happen because I intentionally set aside the time to do them. They happen out of necessity.

My goal as of late is to maximize what I do with intention and minimize what essentially is just a waste of time. Or waste of energy. Or something I could ask for help with.

The first thing to go?

Facebook.

Yep. I know what you are thinking.

But I'm going to do it. I'm going to close my account in 24 hours. Completely closed.

Why? Because it gets in the way of me living life intentionally. Instead of calling my friends, or my sister, or my mom, or whoever- I just check their Facebook page. Instead of watching my kids play and enjoying the time with them, I get lost in the sea of Facebook gossip.

It is not healthy. It is not ideal. And it gets in the way of being intentional with my life.

Where can you reach me you ask? You can call. You can email. You can follow this blog. You can find me on twitter- lrjones87.  You can check out the new handmade personal care products listed to my etsy site- www.etsy.com/shop/lrjones87.

It may seem like I am disappearing but I promise you it is the exact opposite. I am just focusing my attention a little more closely, and in effect, being increasingly more intentional.
